NAVTEQ's Traffic RDS™ service broadcasts traffic information for
Alpine's Blackbird PMB-100 portable navigation system over the FM band.
When the Blackbird is in its car docking station, you'll need to use
this KAE-350FM antenna kit to receive the traffic information feature
in your car.
NAVTEQ's Traffic RDS service can help ease the stress of driving in
many major metro areas by warning you of impending traffic incidents,
like traffic jams, construction, and emergencies. You can utilize this
service with your Alpine Blackbird navigator and docking station by
connecting this KAE-350FM traffic antenna kit to the Alpine Blackbird
docking station. The kit includes the window-mounting film antenna that
receives the traffic information signal, plus brackets that let you
keep the connecting wire under control.
The KAE-350FM antenna receives real-time traffic information on
conditions along your programmed routes from the NAVTEQ service. If an
incident occurs, your Blackbird will deliver an audible warning, then
suggest an alternate route, if one's available, to keep you from
getting stuck in a jam. All the traffic and navigation info will be
displayed on your in-dash DVD player's screen for easier viewing and
control, and the voice prompts are delivered over your car's speakers.
