Great Speakers! |

I have (4) of these speakers installed in my '04 Jeep Liberty. They are being pushed by a Rockford Fosgate Punch P450.4, and an Alpine CDA-9884 head unit. My concern was getting optimal performance out of a 6 3/4" speaker without having to use a sub (conserving cargo space). These speakers are amazing. Highs are sharp, mids are very tight, and bass response is unbelievable for a 6 3/4" speaker. If you get these speakers, make sure you have enough power to push them. Great product. I was always an Infinity fan (always bought Kappa and Reference) but consider me now a converted Alpine lover. These speakers pound. And GREAT customer service from Crutchfield. These were recommended by the tech advisor after letting them know what I was looking for. I only gave them a 4 rating because I don't give anything a 5. But these in my mind are definitely a 4.8. Can't go wrong with these speakers.

Although the fit guide said they didn't fit, I squeezed these speakers into the front doors of my 2006 Honda Accord sdn. THEY SOUND AWESOME. I have never heard so much bass from a 6" speaker. The magnets on these things are massive. I am running them off the factory h/u now, but will soon amp them up. I have them paried with the SPR-69C in the rear deck. With just these four speakers and the factory h/u, I have been asked if I have 12" in the trunk...

Bought these things a while ago, still holding up great. Have a pair in my front door and I haven't even amped them yet im just running them off the HU and they still sound good. They sound great and you can crank em pretty hard before they start to distort.

I first replaced my factory speakers with Sony Xplod 4 ways. When one of the ones in the door blew, I got these. They sound amazing, way better than the Sonys. They were also alot bigger in magnet size. I can now turn my system up much louder without the slightest hint of distortion. They make a great team when combine with my Alpine head unit and kicker 12's.
Would recommend these to anyone wanting better than average sound for their vehicle.

Bought these to go in a 2000 Honda Accord EX-V6 Coupe. Though the fit my car guide says they don't fit, THEY DO!!! Alpine has an adaptor for GM & Honda vehicles that comes with the speakers. You will have to drill 2 small holes, and a little bit of retro-fitting/cutting off of some of the plastic on the adapter, but it definitely fits perfect and it doesn't interfere with the glass. This install isn't for a beginner. These Alpine Type-R 6 1/2's definitely sound great with my Alpine head unit and the Alpine Type-R 6x9's in the rear deck..........Definitely Recommend
