I have just installed a pair of Alpine SPS-46C2 speakers into my '02 Silverado. They are paired with an Alpine CDA-9887 head unit. I am a bit dissappointed in the performance of the 4x6s. The highs are not as crisp as I expected and the speakers don't handle the lows all too well. They do sound a tad flat. I believe the factory paper coned speakers gave better sound. It could be a possibility that the speakers just need time to break in.

Actually, there is another review that put these into a 1991 Firebird...which is what I had these speakers installed into.
Originally wanted some Infinity's but these sound almost identical, although the bass is a bit muddier but the highs are better. The Infinity's didn't fit. But on to the review.
The Alpines have a much richer sound than the factory speakers that were installed previously. Although I am disappointed a little on how rounded the sound is... I know they are only a 2-way speaker...but they still sound a little flat. Overall, they have a nice clean, not too overpowering low, and mostly clean highs. Other than that, these are a nice addition, and I enjoy the sound from them.

Fit Nicely into the rear pillars of a 97 Chevy C1500 Extended Cab with the third door. (NOTE: the master sheet provided does not cover this particular model and a call into Tech support is needed to get some additional instructions in the form of a few pictures) Jeremy was fast with the info and I had them in my Email inbox in a matter of minutes.
These speakers are FINE replacements for the factory speakers in the truck and went in with little trouble.
Crutchfield, Well done. Fast processing and Shipping reponse and the support is unmatched. I'm going to be a customer for a long while. Keep it up!

Not a full sound |

Part of a custom restore to a 91 Firebird was to replace the factory sound system. I purchased and installed a Kenwood KDC-MP2035 receiver (excellent), Alpine SPS462C 4X6 coaxial dash speakers (poor), and Rockford Fosgate (fair). The tech help at Crutchfield was very good. The speakers were wired properly but just didn’t perform with the richness I expected. The OEMs have richer sound at lower volumes. The replacements sounded better at high volumes. Not willing to rattle my rear view mirrors to achieve good sound quality I reinstalled the OEM coaxial. The OEM dash are 10 Ohm and the rear 8 ohm. The impedance rating needs consideration. Nothing beats hearing before buying.

I purchased these speakers a few months ago for my '95 Caprice, and I must say, I love them. They sound so crisp and clear. When I first installed them, they didn't sound good, but that was because my head unit was not tuned properly. After a couple minutes, I tuned it just right, and these speakers are great! They give a nice amount of bass, and they really hit the mids and highs really nice! I like them so much, I just ordered a pair of the same speakers, but in 6"x9"! I'm those will sound just as good as these! Excellent product!!
