I recently dumped one of these under the back seat in my extended cab GMC Sierra and am thrilled how it has transformed the sound. I am throwing roughly 250w to this single sub, and for the style music I listen to (Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Fusion), it is all I need......with the proper components you can adjust this sub to "fill" and round out your system, OR you can boost it up to really "feel" the thump.... either way the sound is very clean and solid (of course, as CF advises, it helps to go with an amp that is capable of producing slightly more power than the RMS of the sub to get the most out of it). On the flip side, my stepson popped one of his CDs into my system recently (Hip Hop, Rap) and although it sounded decent, its not the type of music I set this system up for......lets keep it Real-----I don't consider this sub or my setup to be anywhere near "competition" calibur....if you listen to Rap, etc, you would probably want to go with the larger version of this, or possibly a dual sub setup to properly reproduce the massive low-end (frequencies) bass those recordings have. So all-in-all, this is a great sub at a very nice price......if you are not a hardcore audiophile but want more out of your car stereo, drop one (or two) of these in your ride....amp up your vehicles front door speakers....and start tweaking with gains, crossovers and HU adjustments-----I assure you that you AND your Buds will be impressed!
