Very disappointed with this product. No HDMI inputs not even a HD dvd. For the price you can do so much better. Sound is Good but the system does terrible with a surround sound attempt. Recomend a different sound system and seperate HD dvd player and you will be happier. You will spend about the same as the bose but get more.

Great Sound... Bad DVD Player |

Well I've had 3-2-1 for almost a year. Sound quality on this unit is awesome, no doubt. For a 2 speaker surround system it does the job pretty well. Major disappointment I had was the DVD player. Compared to all other DVD players in the market this one supports only regular store bought DVD's. You could burn DVD's and try to play them but with some DVD's this will play half the DVD or more and freeze. Message on screen displayed is "Cannot Read Disc". After a few tries if you are lucky might start playing again. Now, this is not working well with regular DVD's either. Half way through the DVD, player freezes and displays its cannot read message. This player cannot play any formats such as DivX, AVI, or MPEG. Cannot play MP3's either... I mean my car CD/DVD player plays 10 times more formats than this player. Also it has no HDMI support and has only two sets of component inputs. For the price not exactly worth it. In short not exactly a great package deal. Great sound with a bad DVD player.

I bought the GSX and Still have not been able to use all its features like recording DVD's. Even thou I havnt used these features I find that the Dvd works great f you have decent component cables. Also for being only a two speaker system it sounds great even if you do buy it looking for a surround sound quality, it sounds great in small rooms myabe a 10x10 room or such sort, even thou it will never sound the same. I love this systems simplicity and just like any other bose the sound quality is exceptional. Am surprised its DVD would look so great on a 62 inch HD plasma only using component instead of HD Cables. Over all am pleased with this system like any other bose all I am looking for is quality of sound. I would not trade this system in unless I had a bigger room

I gave this system 4 stars because I think there's always some amount of room for improvement. That being said, I was impressed with it. Bose is known for turning out units with aesthetic appeal and great sound, and this one is no exception. A two speaker system simply can't produce the level of surround five speakers do, but the 3-2-1, when set up as recommended, produces convincing surround sound for movies and TV. Music sounds good, and is made even better with a few minor tone adjustments (don't forget, every room has different acoustical characteristics). As mentioned, Bose is known for its audio, so I was not surprised to find the DVD section lacking things like HDMI outputs and HD upconversion. Still, its 480p picture rivals that of many other middle-of-road progressive scan DVD players I've seen (using an ED or HD TV and component cables, of course). I experienced none of the disc compatibility issues mentioned by the other reviewers. I've played store-bought DVDs, home movies burned to DVD from Mac, store-bought and iTunes-burned CDs as well as MP3s. A DVD audio disc worked flawlessly and sounded great as well, even though not listed as a supported disc type. Those having problems with disc compatibility should speak to Bose, since sometimes all that is needed is a system firmware upgrade. All-in-all, this is a nice-looking, nice-sounding 2.1 system that is a snap to set up and worth the money for what it is.

Sound is Fantastic for such small speakers. Easy to setup. also bought Roku Sound Bridge and listen to Internet Radio on the Bose using the Aux input with Digital optical.
