GREAT CAMERA FOR THE MONEY. GOOD FOR POINT AND SHOOT AND ADVANCED SHOOTING. I AM GIVING 4 STARS BECAUSE OF A FEW MINOR THINGS LIKE THE LENS CAP COMES OFF TOO EASILY AND THERE IS NO WAY TO CHECK YOUR BATTERY LEVEL. I PREVEIUSLY OWNED 3 SONY'S OVER THE PAST TEN YEARS AND THE PICTURE QUALITY IS AS GOOD OR BETTER ALSO GETTING USED TO THE CANNON FEATURES TOOK A LITTLE WHILE AND INSTRUCTION REEDING THAT WE ALL LOVE TO DO. I TAKE A LOT OF WILDLIFE PHOTOS AND THE ZOOM COMES IN HANDY, BUT BEWARE ONCE YOU GET INTO THE DIGITAL ZOOM 13X TO 48X YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO SET YOUR PIXELS AT. IF YOU ARE IN SUPER FINE MODE WITH THE MOST PIXELS YOU WILL GET A BLURRY PICTURE AT 48X. AS LONG AS YOU KEEP IN THE PARAMATERS OF THE INSTRUCTIONS YOU WLL TAKE EXCELLENT PICTURES.I FOUND THAT SHOOTING IN 1600X1200 IN SUPERFINE MODE YOU CAN SHOOT AT 24X WITH GOOD RESULTS. FOR THE MONEY IT IS WORTH IT. AS A MATTER OF FACT YOU WILL PROBABLY PAY MORE FOR ONE WITH THE SAME FEATURES.

This camera is totally awesome, there's hardly any features you could ask for that aren't already here, it takes some of the sharpest photos I've ever seen. It's easy to use and a convenient size, it's an easy decision, get one!

Upgrading from Canon S1 IS? |

I'm still getting used to this camera, only had a couple weeks so far. I was upgrading from my Canon S1 IS because of all the new features. At first I was a bit disappointed. The new version is all plastic, looks like its not as well made. The battery/memory compartment is hard to open/close and I don't like that you have to manually turn on the flash now. I've also noticed it seems like while using many of the modes the pictures are blurry like the image stabilization (IS) can't compensate for a smallest movement. I'm hoping this part is just me getting used to the camera. My first pictures with the S1 IS were the same way. I have enjoyed some of the new features like color swap and accent colors and the super macro.
PROS: Quality of pictures (when not blurred), zoom and macro works great, stereo audio w/video, ability to shoot photos while also capturing video, battery life, features/modes.
CONS: Plastic body, manual flash, battery/memory door, IS may not work as well as older model (still may be my fault here, still learning to use).
Overall I think its a good camera, but it will take a little more to get used to than I thought going from by S1 IS.

A perfect camera, couldn't be happier. This camera does it all, and then some. The pics are amazing, and the video is better than I expected. I've been using this camera for almost a month now, with no issues so far. The menus are easy to use and navigate through. Took it hiking around Baxter State Park and it survived it all. I got this camera, a memory card, and a carrying case, for the price of just the camera at the local shops. Crutchfield is the best, as always!
