I bought this camera for it's simplicity and simple it is. It does everything I wanted it to. Easy to operate. Just like it says point & shoot. Great pictures every shot. Sharp, clear & in focus. A little pricey though. I take it with me everywhere. Long battery life. Doesn't need to be recharged after a few shots. With the larger memory card it takes long videos also. I simply just love it.

This is my third Canon camera, previous two were a SLR (AE1 Program) and a Digital (S30). Each one had great performance, i.e. best in class images and no reliability issues.
The SD870 takes great pics, has excellent battery life and I love it's ability to take good quality video clips, i.e. no need to carry around an extra video camera.

Love this camera. So many options to take great pictures. Manual is easy and simple to understand. I have a Nikon D40 and this camera takes pictures that are equal or better, and is much more convenient to carry around. Put it in your pocket and you will forget it is there. Best of all is Crutchfields' service and knowledge of its sales team. I don't shop anymore, just call Crutchfield. Rhonda you are the best.

Great purchase experience - all of my questions were answered, fast delivery and an excellent price.
My old camera is a Sony Mavica - probably 10 years old - 3.5 in floppy etc., so an upgrade was long over due. Upon receipt, I found myself walking around my house taking pictures of everything because of the great quality. All of the controls are easy and intuitive, the battery seems to have good life and the picture quality from snow shots to inside and outside are great. I recently went to the Chicago Auto show - and was amazed at how nice the photos were, at full resolution, I could zoom and see fingerprints on the cars. Something that was not possible with my old camera. One feature that works better than I expected is the movie feature - it has surprisingly good quality and sound.
All in all, I would recommend this unit, for the size, price and picture quality. I don't think it can be beat. Make sure to buy the 4-gig card. I also purchased the small Tamrac carrying case. The camera fits perfectly with no problems.
