About the Infinity 1050w
No matter what kind of music you listen to, count on Infinity Reference Series subs to deliver the power of the bass instruments in true-to-life fashion. Infinity's Reference 1050w 10" subwoofer adds impact to your tunes with a lightweight cone that responds quickly and accurately, so you'll enjoy every hard-hitting beat.
Infinity built this sub for power and accuracy, with a large-roll rubber surround that extends and controls cone movement, along with a spider design that applies more force to the cone as it travels to its limits. Behind the scenes, the 1050w features a specially-designed basket that allows plenty of cone excursion while minimizing the sub's depth. Built-in air vents cool the sub's internal workings for excellent reliability.

Enclosure Compatibility
High-efficiency Polypropylene Woofer Cone: This lightweight and popular material is used to ensure maximum woofer efficiency. The benefit is high output with modest amplifier power.
Large-roll Rubber Surround: The large-roll rubber surround provides optimum cone-edge suspension and absorbs distortion that may travel up the cone edge, ensuring clean, tight bass.
Proprietary Basket: The unique in-board motor structure reduces the overall mounting depth, without limiting enclosure options.
Vented Polepiece: The vented polepiece provides additional cooling of the motor structure, thus increasing power handling.
Progressive Spider: The subwoofer uses a progressive spider, which provides better control at excursion limits than more commonly used linear spiders. The result is reduced distortion at high output levels.
Gold-plated Binding Posts: The gold-plated binding posts will accept pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and bare wire up to 11 gauge.
Note: The binding posts are positioned too far apart to accept dual banana plugs.
Sealed Box Volume: Infinity recommends a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.75 cu/ft. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle more power, and provide more accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box Volume: Infinity recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.75 cu/ft with one 3" diameter x 9" long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures provide better efficiency in the 40-50Hz range, and are suitable for use with small amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of sound quality at low frequencies (40Hz and below), and control.
Bandpass Box Volume: Infinity recommends a bandpass enclosure with an internal volume of 2.0 cu/ft. The enclosure has a sealed chamber volume of 1.0 cu/ft and a ported chamber volume of 1.0 cu/ft with one 4" diameter x 7.875" long port. Bandpass enclosures often provide the most output available from any amplifier and subwoofer combination at the expense of sonic accuracy. If sheer SPL is desired most, a bandpass enclosure is recommended.

These things will beat. Mine are hooked to a Profile AP1000 amp, in a ported box under the backseat of my Dakota, and they will beat you to death!!! They rattle the windows, tool box and anything within 10 feet. Yeah, they're badd.
