I only gave the speakers 4 stars as the sound from these was not up to par with the stock system in my Jeep. My jeep has the stock head unit, stock Amp etc. When connected these speakers did not compare to the factory speakers in sound, however, the Crutchfield advisor explained these speakers required more power than my amp was producing to drive them, hence the reduced quality in sound. In saying this, the build quality, fit and finish are excellent. I did return them but only as I did not want to change out my amp etc. I recognise the issue is with my setup, not the speakers.

Excellent sound quality, reasonable price, easy to install. What more could you want. Matched them up with the factory Infinity Gold stereo in my wife's 96 Grand Cherokee. I put these in the front doors, we'll see how durable they are. The factory speakers lasted about 9 years.

well i bought these speakers after parting with my old car that had 4 of them in it with a pioneer deck. I went the exact same route this time around going for four of these speakers and a pioneer DEH P4000UB. it did take a while to break these things in but now they sound awesome. I can listen to rock at extremely loud volumes without distortion (the 2ohm resistance helps these speakers draw a little extra power from the deck to reduce distortion) and they also give me a good amount of distortion free bass although i think i need to add a sub or two now with the great highs im getting. Overall the music is crisp and clear, these things blow my old speakers away. If you really want to get the most out of them though you'll need an amp and probably a sub as they cant hit the low notes. Overall an excellent purchase i am extremely happy with how these things sound.

well these are nice speakers, but they realistly need about 200 hours of break-in to become as efficient as the specs say they are. Decent punchy bass once broke in, and silky light highs. They definately deserve higher minimum RMS specs too. If not broke in, expect to be dissapointed in thier sound.

I recently purchased the reference speakers for a '01 nissan maxima in the front and rear doors without the bose. I have been pleased with the quality of sound produced. I am installing a 10 L5 kicker sub to increase the bass. These speakers are for people that enjoy music loud and clear. they are not meant for low bass notes. Also people with the bose speaker setup may need to puchase 5 1/4 for the rear doors or be ready for serious fabrication.
