Awesome bass! |

I first installed these in a 95 subaru legacy and they do fit with a little modification. The bass, mids and treble were superb. Bass really stood out to me. I am one to be considered to enjoy solid bass, and not that boomy bass. The one speaker had a rattling to them that i couldn't figure out until after hours of tweaking. It ended up that the wire that goes from the woofer to the speaker terminal was laying on the woofer. Once i propped that wire up, all is well. However since they weren't the best fit, i ordered infinity 6022si for the subaru and moved the jbl's to my 06 grand prix. Before i found the buzzing problem i thought it was the fit for some silly reason. Anyhow, the infinity's are decent but the jbl's blow them away in the bass department with my alpine cde-9874. O well they pair up nicely in my grand prix with the stock head unit and alpine r series in the back. I am not even going to mess with anything else. The bass is awesome! That HU actually has some power and just needs the right speakers like jbl's. These jbl's actually saved me a lot of money. I wanted to wait see how they sounded before doing anything else. I don't need an amp and sub anymore. I am very satisfied. Trust me, i'm very critical when it comes to decent audio and i just can't believe the sound my stock HU and aftermarket speakers produce. I've heard polks, infinity's and jbl's. These are definitely my favorite. I almost want to exchange my infinity's for another pair of jbl's.

I've heard JBL speakers before in PA system and I'm sure they handle big watts, so I tried their car speakers this time, and i was amazed on how clear and crisp it sounded in my 99 corolla, I had it on my rear deck and put baffles on them, I had db polk comp at my front speakers and a 12 inch Infinity Sub all ampd' and my head was a D100 Alpine,....boy!, I feel like i'm in a home theater surround sound when I turn em Up! it surely Rock!
