These p-707s are a decent bang for the buck, they seem to strain at the top just a little! I have a 2000 Chevy w/ these mounted in the doors. They are drilled & screwed into the metal structure of the door w/baffles, not inside the plastic door panel as the stock ones were. Note: if you outsource the install, watch out! I don't think the structure is strong enough to handle the woofer action. As a machine builder from Detroit, I will tell you the metal thickness is only .032! Dynamat only dampens metal, it does not build structure for these to hit as they could. Please note: running a Kenwood excelon591 receiver with 4 volt pre-outs though Streetwires zn9 RCAs into a excelon X-40 amp w/Cap w/130 amp alternator w/ 12 gauge speaker. So yes, I have covered the bases...I find it very difficult to raise the bass boost! The speakers rate @ 65RMS with my amp @ 70RMS should be the good. The tweets are pretty good, but the 3/4 liquid silk poly Polks in the pillars are even better. Adding structure in truck doors will be a must for all top-end woofer capability, for ANY speaker of this potential. Yes these 707s w/amp will upset your neighbors, be considerate, tune it at the mall! Peace

I installed these in a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. The mods to the factory tweeter pods weren't toooo difficult and the sound quality was well worth the effort. I found the tweets a bit loud at first and wound up using the -2dB connections on the crossovers. The bass extension is surpisingly good.

I am running these components through a Kenwood 40 x 4 amp with a high pass filter set at >= 100 Hz. The mids are great but the tweets are not quite as crisp as I would like. All in all they are a great value and I am happy with my decision to purchase these.

Awesome Sound for Factory Head Unit |

I took the gentlemens advise before me, Mike I believe, on these speakers. He wanted to help someone with the same type of vehicle, well he did!! Being 6 years out of installing any type of system, I picked it up quick again and the Crutchfield instructions though generic, but helpul, allowed me get it done. I custom mounted and installed my Kenwood 6 3/4 component system in the doors of my 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab. They sound great! Crisp and clear highs, as well as killer bass "for a factory head unit". I'm going to have to put some insullation in the doors they are thumping soo hard! Do not install these without the cross-overs!! You can attach the cross-overs with wire-ties inside the door below where the sub's go on the tubing that runs back inside the chasis. I clipped and ended the tweeter factory wires and ran my cross-over input from the original subwoofer wire. I went to Home Depot, and got extra speaker wire, which I ran to both the sub, and tweeter, and the ending result is awesome sound! Factory Head Unit = Awesome! Highly recommend these. Great Customer Service makes Crutchfield the bomb! I'm coming back for my 4x6 plates for my back doors soon. Hope this helps all Chevy and GMC Truck owners!
