Product was easily installed and worked right away. An FM modulator can not compare in sound quality. Only one wire to your Ipod makes the installation nice and neat.

This is such a huge improvement over my old FM modulator that it's not even worth comparing. No more trying to find free stations, especially on long trips through multiple cities. I routed the cable to the center arm rest compartment in my 2001 Mercury Sable, and now with the ipod hidden, I can just shut off the car and leave, rather than having to unplug and stow it out of sight every time. Sound quality is excellent. I went about 3 weeks without setting dipswitch 6 (to boost the sound level) and I loved it even with the lower sound level. Now it just rocks with switch 6 set. I love that I don't have to bring my ipod nano (8G) in to the house to charge it anymore. It's always charged and ready to go with this adapter.
The biggest factor for me in deciding to buy this unit rather than replacing the factory stereo with an aftermarket one with line input, was the fact that I don't like the small buttons on aftermarket stereos. It's great being able to skip forward/back with my factory stereo buttons. FF within a track does not work, but that's not a feature I would use anyway. If I want to do specific things like that, I can always pick up the ipod and do it right from the click wheel. It's great that it remains active when plugged in to the adapter.
I've had a great experience with this product, and Crutchfield was flawless.

I have a 2002 BMW 325ci it works great for about 1 or 2hr after that it shuts off and you have to disconnect and reconnect. What a weaste of time? For the price you pay it is a great buy and the sound quality is the best. On my next BMW I'll makesure the iPod adapter is apart of the car.

Product was very easy to install in my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. Instructions were very good, and thanks to the comments on the website to set dipswitch 6 on I get the volume needed. Hardest part was having to remove passenger side bottom dash trim to mount the box more easily. Sound is great with the direct connection. I have not tested all the controls, but know there are limitations on what can be controlled through the factory sound system. This is not a big concern to me - I wanted the direct connection to improve sound quality, charge my iPod and get rid of the pain of trying to find unused FM radio stations. A great product. Worth the $ (I paid almost $85 for the FM modulator and got half the sound quality).

This product is excellant. Installed in about 20 minutes. Everything works great. Installed in a 2000 Ford Taurus. When connecting my iPhone to the adapter, it says it will only work in airplane mode. Disregard the warning and go into regular mode. It works just fine and you can still get your phone calls. I've seen where some reviews reccommend you set the number 6 dipswitch to on for better volume, but mine is just fine.
