Got enough juice? Get an amp for your new sub Get the power and precision you want from your subwoofer, with the reliability that comes from a name you trust. Polk's db (Dynamic Balance) series subwoofers are engineered with state-of-the-art technologies, combining the best materials so you get top-notch performance and clean, smooth bass.

The Polk db124DVC 12" subwoofer features a polypropylene cone, shaped like a dish for extra rigidity. The cone is encircled by a tough Santoprene rubber surround that shrugs off the harmful effects of exposure to sun, moisture, and extreme temperature changes — this sub will stand the test of time. The Kapton voice coil former is triple-vented so the sub stays cool when the bass gets hot. And you don't have to limit these speakers to your car — they've passed tough environmental testing that certifies them for marine use as well.

The db124DVC comes with dual 4-ohm voice coils for system wiring flexibility — it can be wired for 2-ohm (coils wired in parallel), 8-ohm (coils wired in series), or 4-ohm impedance (each coil wired independently).

Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. Most car amplifiers are stable down to 2 ohms in standard mode, or 4 ohms in bridged operation.

Polk db's are quite nice October 1, 2007
Reviewer: KevO from Detroit, MI
I have a Directed 1200.1 and I've been through a few different sets of 12's.(Concepts, MTX 5500, Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1, and JL Audio 12w3v1) I've blown them all via way of my tinsel frying. These db's are coated which impressed me. They beat pretty nice I would say in a overall rating. The Kappa's dropped a little lower but for the price you cant beat them. So far everything Polk I've ever purchased has done me well. I think I've learned my lesson. You can't go wrong with Polk...Partnered with Crutchfield...It's a good thing.

I recently bought two of these and wired them to 2 ohms each and put them on separate channels of my amp.  They are getting 200 watts a piece and they pound.  I listen to rock and metal and when there is either a bass solo or rapid bass drum these subs stay tight w/ accurate bass.  i can't wait to give these things the 360 watts they deserve, because they will be insane.  And top of sounding good they look sick as well.

Works good for the cost October 20, 2006
Reviewer: Kris from Milwaukee, WI
I have this sub hooked up to the Rockford Fosgate Punch P3001, which gives it 300W at 2 ohms. It's everything I wanted in a sub; I have no complaints whatsoever.  It sounds good, looks good, and at $100, it's at a perfect price.  I trust Polk, as I've had their speakers for over 3 years now without any problems.  This is a good buy for someone not looking to blow their eardrums out.  I listen to rock, so I wanted punchy, not boomy, bass, and this sub delivers.
