I purchased this a while back to hook up a sub-woofer to my existing system. I wanted to hook an amp and sub-woofer to my factory head unit in the trunk (to the speaker level outputs from the Bose system amp that is in the trunk.) This unit didn't work for me even though I verified it was hooked up properly to the wires going to the speakers. I verified all was well but, in the end, it took buying a different company's speaker to line level box and it worked great. It's too late to return this to Crutchfield but wanted all to know of my experience. The other issue is be VERY careful with the adjustment screws. I used a very small screwdriver and was very careful but after turning the screws back and forth a few times, the screw stopped stopping at the "full on" stop but instead would turn round and round. Ugh...

Not what I intended to recieve when I ordered. When hooking up to a factory deck you need to know and be able to identify all factory wiring for the speakers, and you will have to rewire all factory speakers unless you tap into the wires and run this as an auxillary. I may be way off of mark here but it seemed a little more complicated to me than the average installer would want to tackle. I run a install shop for electronics and do not intend on using this product in the future. I purchased this to enable me to install a amp and subs to a factory stereo so the owner could retain his factory 6 disc shuttle. I would recommend for the novice installer to locate the four wire converter. All you have to do to install these is locate your rear speaker wires and tap into them and you end up with 2 rca outputs for your bass amp. Product does work as described with no problems. Just more complicated than needed for my application.

Reviews are the only way for consumers to really understand how something is going to work for them. Most of what is written by the vendor has to be taken with a grain of salt. I've got to comment on this because, it did exactly what I needed and I was almost ready to spend hundreds on an aftermarket amp.
Problem: Getting aftermarket head units to play nicely with 98' E320 stock Bose amplifier. Line out from aftermarket HU to Bose amp and you get a nasty thump when source is changed or volume turned to zero. I thought it was a flaw in the Alpine receiver. On to a new Pioneer DEH-P5000UB for bluetooth purposes (awesome!). I found the same problems. Also tried speaker out to factory amp but that option came with other issues like 'one click, too loud' and hissing on soft tracks. The Scosche SLC4 knocked these problems square out. Easy to connect. Adjustments were puzzeling. I just set all channels equal at half mark and set the mode switch to what sounded best. It delivered what Bose was looking for. 5 clicks into the volume and the sound increases nicely and has a solid full range as I continue to increase the knob. No clicks, pops or hissing! Only negative things to report are the cheap screw I/O connections and the mode switch needs to be wiggled for all channels to connect. BTW If anyone from Alpine product is reading, after 3 Alpine head units over the years, I'm back in the Pioneer fan club. Their head units for the money have won me over!

This product is too complicated to install for its quality and is somewhat tedious. The plastic is flimsy but, unfortunately its all I could find at the time of my last install. I am looking to install an MTX Thunder series amp to a factory head unit and then add the Polk EX series sub I just cant part with. (Polk got that series woofer Spot On) I was hoping to find something better but, so far no luck. I suppose if I cannot find something better I will need to return to this. Or perhaps go without..................the gain adjustment is far to sensitive. I would not call this item user friendly in any sense though it does work. If I cannot find something better I will keep looking for the high level input harness for the amp that I no longer have. To those considering purchasing this I recommend to keep looking or find an alternative.

I Just installed this in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 QC and it was very simple and easy. One of the reasons i bought this is because i got Sirius Satellite radio free for a year and didnt want to lose that with another aftermarket radio. but ill probably exchange this out with my old pioneer for the high and low pass filters for better sound quality.
