Good Receiver for the money |

The unit is pretty basic. It works as advertised. The installation kit and wiring harness were included w/o charge so it was a good deal. But the best deal is the support from Crutchfield. Before this unit arrived, I removed the old factory unit to see what the wirings looked like. Then I emailed my wiring questions to Crutchfield tech support and each time it was answered within hours. When it was time to install, there was no surprise. The whole installation starting from unpacking the box was done in less than 45 minutes and the unit worked immediately. Crutchfield support is top notch.

Its a good receiver for the price...pretty basic, but does have good sound. That annoying alarm everyone is talking about isnt so annoying. It only chirps three times then goes silent, so its just a quick reminder that if you want to remove it go ahead and do it. The installation was a bit tricky(at least for my S10). It took me about 2-3hrs to install but i had no confusion as to how to do it. Good as a replacement for your factory receiver but if your looking for performance I'd look into some of sony's higher priced models.....peace....

i rate the player a 5 but the install was a 1. the player was installed in a 94 ford f150 pickup. the cables that came with the player did not help at all. made repeated trips to local shops to get right patch cords to work. could never find the right cord for the patch around old factory amp. had to use some old phone wire i had to make that final connection. stripped the wire and inserted into the factory plug then butt spliced the other end to speaker wires. total time was all day plus gas. other than that system sounds great.

A definite step up from the factory head that came in my 2004 Subaru. Like other reviewers, I also find the warning signal that beeps every time you shut off the ignition as a reminder to remove the face-plate extremley annoying and wish that the dimmer were connected to the vehicle's dash lighting dimmer, rather than as a function on the faceplace. However, the unit sounds great, the controls are easy to navigate while driving and the ability to plug my iPod or XM into the 1/8 jack on the front is terrific!

This deck for me works fine. It was installed in a 94' Honda Accord. Nothing fancy but it sounds better than the factory deck. Good unit for the money. The beeping at shut off is different but all is well......
