Like many of the other reviewers have mentioned, there is not much bass to be found from these speakers. They actually sounded a bit less bass-y then the factory speakers. But on the other hand, they were not that expensive. The highs sound great. I have a factory-installed amp with the radio these were hooked to, so that helps a bit. Overall I am happy with them, and they perform about how I expected. These were replacements for my wife's car so I don't listen to them very often.

Noticeable improvement over the factory speakers in a Subaru Forrester with the factory radio. Good value for the money. Installation was easy thanks to the Crutchfield directions and the provided connectors.

Bought these to replace door speakers in 2001 Honda Odyssey. Very disappointing. The factory speakers left a lot to be desired, but at least they had a hint of bass. These have zero bass, and if you try and crank it they vibrate. Excellent high end, average mid-range and zero bass. Could this be a result of the known lack of acoustics in the Odyssey, perhaps. Eventually put bass blockers on these and added a sub. The problem with the Odyssey door design is that there is minimal clearance in the door. I had to tie wrap all the wires to the inside of the door to prevent the window from taking out the wires. I suggest reading some of the door mods you can do and fitting 6 1/2" speakers.

I purchased these speakers to replace the original AC Delco speakers mounted in the doors of a Pontiac Grand Prix Coupe. The original speakers had lasted 9 years before one started buzzing. The new Sony speakers fit easily in the original door enclosure and the Crutchfield-supplied connector fit the GM connector perfectly. However, my Pontiac had the 8-Speaker system which connected the door speakers with the door sail panel tweeters. Crutchfield ignored these tweeters and didn't provide a way to connect them, despite the fact that their menu system did recognize the 8-speaker system at the time I placed the order. With no proper connectors or instructions, I had to cut the wires, buy a cripping tool and cripping caps, and improvise a way to keep my tweeters connected. Now, about the Sony speakers themselves: They lack bass, and sound too thin compared with the original AC Delco speakers which had a bone-rattling phenomenal bass. Overall, the sound is acceptable since I do get the bass from the 4 speakers on the rear window deck. On the positive side: CDs with exagerated bass no longer boom annoyingly.

Got a 2000 Jeep Wrangler and replaced the stock speakers with these Sony models. SUPER easy install with the Crutchfield included goodies...screwdriver and 15 minutes are all you need. Big upgrade from the stock speakers.
