How dose one rate this? This is the first Sony product I've purchased that gave me any trouble. I own an original 1 disc SACD player from Sony that plays beautifully so I know what this one can do. For that I couldn't make myself give it a 1 star. Since I have a Sony SACD player already, be it only a one disc changer, and the new ES Receiver has optical digital in, I opted for the 400 disc Sony Juke box. I hope you didn't take short cuts in building this SACD Sony. I hold a lot of stock in you.

Just bought it few weeks ago. Working fine at this time. With this price range, the CD player is excellent.

My primary use for this unit is to program mini concerts across the five disks.
Without digital SACD output it is just an average CD player whose limitation by Sony gives me one more reason to not even consider buying any SACD recordings.

Everything is fine with this CD player, except one very important thing: you cannot turn it on or off with a remote control...not even a universal one.
While I appreciate quality, without the convienence of a remote control with on/off...there's just no reason to purchase this CD player. Buy something else that's high quality and offers a fairly standard convienence.

Been a SONY girl for 15 yrs, now that i can afford it. Laser died. Played one song. stopped. Called SONY. Offer - could purchase a refurbished one, from SONY. HUH! Paid just $149 from my guys. My 15yr old CDP-C225 is still going strong. Not being an "audiofile", i think the more bells and whistles just complicate things. I'll stick to the basics. So, i'll order another "simple" one for the outside entertainment needs.
