Not Bad September 21, 2008
Reviewer: Sam from Roswell,N.M.
So far so good. The amp has done very well with what I have hooked up to it so far. The set up instructions could be a little easier to follow due to the rear connections in some cases being multi item connections. I now use dvd recorders on a regular bases just like the old vcrs for daily recording so more connectors to help with that would have been more  helpful and the front screen is not as helpful as on screen instructions would have been. I do like the programmable remote that has come in handy but some codes thus far have not succeded for some of my other equipment. As I become more familiar with it I feel for the most part it will be worth the money spent.

Great Value for Money June 13, 2008

For $300 this receiver simply cant be beat. The HDMI switching means I can have my Blu-Ray, 360 and a  DVD recorder all hooked up at one time with seamless transitions between each. The sound quality is great and the auto tune feature works very well producing well balanced sound for my home.  In my opinion the only downside to this unit is the fact that despite having 1080p HDMI switching the unit does not support True HD or any of the newer HD Sound outputs from the Blu-Ray player.   But if that is not a problem for you then get this receiver and you wont be disappointed.

A great product for its price.

A good product with some limitations May 29, 2008
Reviewer: Bruce from Menlo Park, CA
I've had this receiver for about a month.  The sound quality is good as is the picture quality.  I'll admit I overlooked two drawbacks.  The first drawback is the lack of on-screen (that's TV screen) menues.  The LED display on the front of the receive is confusing and difficult to read from across the room.  The second drawback is its inability to upconvert an analog video input to HDMI.  I spent a few hours last night trying to hook up a PS2, using the optical input as well as the composite.  Both ways I got sound, but no picture.  I spent another couple hours on the internet before I finally realized that I have to hook the video-composite-out on the receiver to the video-composite-in on the TV because the receiver doesn't convert video-composite-in to the digital HDMI link.  These two issues are well documented in the "Specifications" on Crutchfield, but trying to tease these limitations out of the manual is impossible.

Great system for HDTV April 19, 2008
Reviewer: Karl from SF Bay Area, CA
We purchased this unit as part of a general upgrade to HDTV (along with a Sony Bravia LCD and Blu-Ray DVD).  The initial setup was very easy, and since our new cable box used HDMI for output, everything could feed through the receiver into the TV with 1 cable.  The auto-calibration is straightforward, and we're pleased to report that even our old Technics CD player and Infinity speakers sound *much* better with this receiver.  The front panel isn't completely intuitive; otherwise, this is a 5-star unit, especially given the price.  I would definitely recommend this receiver for home theatre newbies.
