This amplifier rocks. Period. It can push like crazy. Mine must be the old model, because it has the red LEDs on the inside, but it still can handle 2 12"s incredibly well. The brushed aluminum finish looks amazing, as do the LEDs, and it really is the highlight of my whole system.
My sound system consists of a Pioneer DEH-3000IB head unit, this 200W Sony amp, 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P12" subs, 2 Blaupunkt Thin Series 2-way 6.5" full-range speakers and 2 tweeters (along with 2 stock speakers in the way back). This amp can handle it. Most of my in-town trips are short, so I never worry about overheating, even with it mounted behind the backseat of my '98 Chevy Extended Cab.

I bought this amp due to reviews, pretty good amp, but when bridged will cut out after about 45 min of high use on a 4 ohm load. Just turn down the gain a little and no protect mode but of course ur not getting as big as a bump from your woofers. Very Very good bang for the buck. Gets real hot when bridged and using full power. This amp is not to be overlooked, for the price it is a great 2 channel amp. Spend a hundred bucks or so on 2 cheap 12s and this amp willl max them out and sound like a double the money setup.

I've never been a sony fan, my uncle had a sony head unit in his truck and it sounded so distorted i would have rather listened to nothing. as you could imagine i was skeptical on buying it, but did anyway. I'm glad I did. It was worth every penny. so I threw a couple 15" JBLs in a custom ported box, both bridged to 2 ohms and hooked up in stereo. Blew me away. people two blocks away could hear me. I later added an equalizer and got it louder. with this amp, my subs, and my wiring kit, i put together one of the greatest systems in my whole town for under $600. and it's in a minivan. bet you didn't see that one coming.

i have owned this amp for about a month now, i think the features are great, it is built very solid, and was overall very easy to install and setup, it also looks very nice, especially with the led lights, i first installed it in stereo to two xplod 12"s in my trunk, it sounded great but i just wasn't pushing enough power into the subs, so i bridged it, and i know it says this amp is good for a two ohm load, but i'm still not sure about that,
after running this amp bridged at a 2 ohm load this thing gets burning hot, literally, im surprised it hasn't started a fire, really. and then once it gets hot, it goes into protect mode whenever i try to pound my subs, i also suspect it will die out on me in the near future but honestly idc, i'll be getting a kicker amp soon, cant wait for that

I am not new to this game of finding the real hard ((BASS)).
I have used Rockford Fosgate, Kenwood, Kicker, and even
Alpine's 1.1000 which cut an $800 dollar hole in my wallet;
I will tell you from experience, The Sony XM-2002GTR is
stronger and more powerful with the Sony XS 124p5b's
than the Alpine 1.1000 and Alpine Type-R's (which I used
to own)...and I save over $600-800 in the process!! Don't
underestimate Sony like I did for so long; all I did during
that time was waste A LOT OF MONEY on hype. If you
are tired of spending more money for less performance
then don't you think its about time to switch to Sony?
BTW, my setup: 1 Sony XM-2002GTR parallel wired and
bridged to two Sony 124p5b Subs in a 34 1/2" wide ported enclosure.
I'm using Boston Acoustics for my rear 5x6's and 4x6's with tweeters in
the front because of spec match!
