this tv is just jaw-dropping. my friends with HDTVs come over, see my Toshiba Regza 42rv530u and they are suddenly ashamed of their sony's and LGs (my panasonic friend thinks his tv is better, and i have to agree, but barely, and at a price!). Buy this TV, you cant go wrong

I got this tv along with a Toshiba 19" LCD TV and the price was more than great. The picture is great! I love how easy it is to setup everything. The tv has everything I need. the only thing I wish it had was more ports such as HDMI and HD color in puts. It also does not have a DVI port but still has everything that you really need.

This unit has a great picture and the menus are easy to use. It stopped working after only 2 months of light usage. We contacted Toshiba for warranty service. Someone did come look at the tv within 5 days, but we are still waiting for the tv to be repaired. It has been about 3 weeks now with no progress. They refuse to give us an anticipated repair date. They have also refused to extend our warranty to make-up for the time we haven't been able to use the tv. We don't know when we will be able to use our tv again and have little confidence that it will be reliable once it is repaired. If you plan to purchase this product be sure to buy an extended warranty.

I've had this for about two weeks. Got it with a PS3. Everything HD I've watched on it looks phenomenal, except of course for the refresh rate (which I barely even notice, and nobody else notices at all). Definitely a great TV for the price. The only minor complaint I have is if you have the optical audio out connected to a receiver, the receiver has to be on when you turn on the tv (i.e. if the receiver is off when the tv turns on, it will play audio through the tv speakers) in order for it to send the audio. Took me a while to figure that one out. All in all, an excellent TV. Perfect for a first time buyer.

Great Picture and viewing Angle |

In making an online purchase of this TV I was worried about how sharp its picture would be and what's its viewing angle would be like. I was relieved to see how sharp its picture was and I can clearly see the picture from any angle I view it from.
Like any large TV it puts off some heat so that's something to consider when buying one.
I'm using a DVI->HDMI converter to get output from my computer and I'm able to read the text clearly from across the room (about 10-20 feet) as well as when I'm right in front of it. The clarity from my DVD player and VCR are great as well.
I read there were problems in getting this TV to save the display settings for the different inputs and though I don't remember how I set it up I haven't had any problems after my initial poking around with its setup for about an hour.
I have had some problems with some movies that pan over large mountain panoramics. There's a bit of a stepping motion on these initial scenes but I suspect it may be my computer's graphics card as this hasn't been noticeable via my DVD player. If it is the TV then I'm sure the 120 mhz model would fix this problem... I just thought of stepping up the output frequency on my graphics card but I'm not at home to report on the results.
It's channel scanner found a bunch of nice digital cable channels I didn't get before so that's a great plus as I only pay for my cable company's internet service and I was previously limited to three not so great channels.
